Note-taking during a domestic disagreement

To establish a reliable method for documenting key claims, contradictions, and emotional pivots during active domestic disagreement, ensuring future accountability and strategic advantage in post-fight analysis.

Applies to all arguments lasting more than 4 minutes or involving the phrase "that's not what I said." Does not apply to silent treatments, which are governed by BIC-OPS-SOP-0051.

3.1  When a disagreement begins, do not immediately engage. Open the Notes app on your phone.

3.2  Record partner's opening claim verbatim. Timestamp it. This will matter later.

3.3  As the argument evolves, document any position shifts. Use shorthand: CX = contradiction, EP = emotional pivot, NR = new resentment introduced.

3.4  Do not let your partner see the phone. If asked what you are doing, say "nothing" or "just checking the time." Both will be believed approximately 0% of the time.

3.5  After the fight, compile notes into a post-incident review (BIC-OPS-SOP-0045). Do not send this to your partner. This is not a collaboration.

If your partner discovers the note-taking, the original argument will be immediately replaced by a new, larger argument about the note-taking. This is known as a cascading incident and is covered under BIC-OPS-SOP-0047 (Damage Control).
